Their task is to organise, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of the estate to ensure everything runs smoothly and meets the owner’s expectations.

Key qualifications

  • Over one year of work experience as estate/house manager verified by employing family references, or
  • Extensive experience as maître d’hôtel (hotel or restaurant), complemented by certificate of Household Staff Orientation course from Sweet Home.

Duties of a Household Estate Manager

Household staff management:

  • planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and personnel record-keeping;
  • organising the full range of household tasks and responsibilities;
  • monitoring both the process and the quality of completed work.

Organisation of technical support and maintenance of the house:

  • planning and purchasing necessary technical equipment and household appliances;
  • liaising with service providers for maintenance and repair of buildings, gardens, appliances, equipment, water features and other facilities on the estate.

Estate security:

  • overseeing the security system and coordinating the security team.

Financial management:

  • budgeting, reporting, paying invoices, and expense control.

Reporting and feedback:

  • timely updates on current matters, execution of instructions, and regular reporting.

Liaising with service providers and contractors.
Organising family travel or relocations.
Planning family events and guest reception.

Working hours options
  • Full time – 5 days/9 hours;
  • Irregular hours – 5-6 days per week, up to 12 hours;
  • Live-in full time
