BUTLER

A Butler is a professional responsible for personal service and the front-of-house service of a private household or residence. They support the principals’ daily requirements, take account of their routines and individual preferences, and organise the welcome and service of guests.

Depending on the household structure, a Butler may work as part of a service team or take independent responsibility for personal and daily service within the residence.

WHAT THE BUTLER ROLE INCLUDES

Personal service for the principals and members of the household
Preparation for daily routines, appointments, entertaining and travel
Welcoming and looking after guests
Formal and informal table setting and the service of food and drinks
Preparing front-of-house, guest and service areas
Organising service for private receptions and events
Caring for tableware, glassware, silverware and service equipment
Monitoring beverages and other service supplies
Packing, unpacking and caring for personal belongings where included in the role
Coordinating with other household staff to ensure consistent service
Accompanying the family during travel and stays at other residences
Maintaining the household’s service standards, confidentiality and professional boundaries

Working hours options

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS AND SCHEDULE

Full-time, live-in or live-out
Five-day schedule aligned with the household’s routine
Shift schedule — morning, daytime or evening shifts
Rotational schedule — 7/7, 14/14 or another agreed cycle
Accompanying schedule — regular travel with the family

SWEET HOME AGENCY FEES

Our fee is 100% of the employee’s average monthly salary.

BUTLER SALARY

Salary depends on the Butler’s experience, level of responsibility, working schedule, accommodation arrangement, travel requirements and number of residences.
